"Three friends. Three days. Three ways it will all go wrong." Matt, Will, and Robert have been friends for a long time, living in Fort Worth, Texas. But over the course of three days, their lives will change drastically as a secret society composed of hitmen invade their ordinary lives. Thier sole motivation is greed, and they'll stop at nothing to get what they want. And as these three days unfold, our three friends may find out that they're not friends at all. The film is divided into five parts: An Introduction, Robert's Story, Will's Story, Matt's Story, and the Epilogue. The style is mostly inspired by the film "Go" and "Pulp Fiction". The actual story elements are inspired by "Pulp Fiction", "Reservoir Dogs", and "Fight Club". To explain this, the films "Go" and "Pulp Fiction" both use a style first perfected (and perhaps invented by) Quentin Tarantino in "Pulp Fiction". In "Pulp Fiction" instead of one straightforward story, it was multiple stories that all tied together, but were shown in a non-chronological order. A few years later, the film "Go" was made, using a style similar to this, but keeping things a bit more tidy. Instead of having a big mess of stories running at different times, we were shown one person's story, then after that was over, we jumped back to the beginning and was shown another person's story, and after that, we saw the last person(s)' story. "Friends and Foes" uses this method to convey its story. As far as style goes, the idea of hitmen with character came from "Pulp Fiction" where one of the stories follows Jules and Vincent Vega, two hitmen who, instead of having a stone face and no emotion, actually have personalities. The idea of having traitors from withing came from "Reservoir Dogs", where a bunch of thieves unsucessfuly attempt to rob a load of diamonds and find out they failed because one of the thieves is an undercover cop. Finally, the whole society and conformity issue came from excessive viewings of "Fight Club", the director's favorite film. In "Fight Club" a bunch of men get together to fight, and soon become a cult, bent on destroying humanity as we know it and going back to our primal roots. Shooting has not begun as of yet, and there is no expected date for it at this time. It all depends on cast availability and other issues. The director also wishes to shoot the film during the winter, so that factors in, as well. The film is written by Justin R. Schulke, and will be directed and produced by him, as well. Besides cast positions, other positions are available, which you can view in the "Jobs" section. |
